Picture this: two friends, an impromptu foodie call, a hidden gem restaurant, a few too many cocktails, and a stroke of genius that spiraled into (maybe) a fully-fledged blog.
That’s how WIGML (Will It Get Me Laid?) was born.
Who Are We?
We’re Alex and Charlie, (*Breathy Heeyyy) your guides to Melbourne’s date night scene. Full disclosure, we are not dating, just best mates who want to help you get the date night vibes just right.
Alex: The adventurous "try anything once" guy. Introverted but with a taste for the finer things in life—think sleek cars, cutting-edge tech, and industrial-chic aesthetics. If there’s something on the menu that sounds borderline ridiculous, he’s ordering it.
Charlie: The go-getter, get-her-hands-dirty kind oif gal, the extrovert, the brains looks of this operation. She’s equally happy at a stylish cocktail bar or at her local pub, knitting and chatting with strangers or sometimes is really just there for the dogs.
We’re an unlikely duo with wildly different backgrounds, but our friendship just works. We thrive on unserious takes, adult humor, and enough innuendo to fill entire seasons of bad rom-coms.

The Birth of WIGML
It all started one fateful and balmy night in Prahran. Possibly a few too many cocktails deep and after Charlie cried in public, we realized we probably should find somewhere to eat. Then as if it were meant to be, we stumbled across Firebird and were delightfully surprised to find an ambient and relaxing venue where just about every box was ticked.
Vibes ✅| Food ✅| Staff ✅| Music ✅| Acoustics ✅| Bathrooms ✅| Styling ✅| Bonus ✅ no one could tell Charlie had, mere moments ago, been leaking from her eyes.
After realizing how stunning this place was in so many ways, we though “What a great date night spot.” and Charlie returned fire with “But will it get me laid?” and here we are.
But Why Date Night Reviews?
We want to break down the experiences we have to make it easier for you to decide what places you want to try or where you can go to easliy impress your next date, bestie or even yo mama.
What we won’t do? Actually answer the question, "Will it get me laid?" Whoa, whoa, slow down there champ. That’s between you and your date or ya mum. We’re just here to help you set the scene.
